Austin Peay baseball tops Eastern Michigan 6-1; Potosi alum Ryker Walton pitches two innings

Former Potosi High School standout Ryker Walton and his Austin Peay Governors teammates earned a 6-1 win over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in an NCAA Division I baseball game on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m.

The contest was held at Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park and marked the teams’ third meeting of the season. The day before, on Saturday, Feb. 21, the Governors claimed an 8-7 victory over the Eagles.

Walton worked two innings in relief, notching two walks and two strikeouts.

The Governors are set to play next on Tuesday, Feb. 24, facing the Mississippi State Bulldogs at 4 p.m. at Dudy Noble Field at Polk-Dement Stadium.
