Lake Regional Health System has earned reaccreditation from The Joint Commission, according to a March 20 announcement. The Joint Commission is an independent organization that accredits health care providers across the country.

The reaccreditation highlights Lake Regional’s ongoing efforts to maintain high standards in patient safety and quality of care. The Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission is considered a symbol of excellence in the health care industry.

To receive this recognition, Lake Regional underwent an unannounced on-site review where surveyors assessed compliance with national standards related to patient care, safety, quality improvement, leadership, and the hospital environment.

“Earning reaccreditation from The Joint Commission is a powerful affirmation of the work our team does every day to provide safe, high-quality care for our patients,” said Kevin McRoberts, FACHE, CEO of Lake Regional Health System. “The Gold Seal of Approval represents a commitment shared by every member of our organization — from physicians and nurses to support staff — to continually improve, follow the highest standards and ensure our patients receive the best care possible.”

Joint Commission accreditation is recognized nationwide as a mark of excellence in health care quality and patient safety. Organizations that achieve this status must show continuous compliance with performance standards designed to improve outcomes and protect patients.

“Quality and safety are at the heart of everything we do at Lake Regional,” McRoberts said. “This recognition reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional care close to home and continually improving the experience for our patients and their families.”
