The City of Lebanon announced on Apr. 9 that it will hold its Spring 2026 #LevelUpLebanon event on Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Public Works Building located at 1401 W. Commercial Street. The event is open to residents of Ward 2 and Ward 3.

The initiative aims to help residents dispose of unwanted household items and yard waste while fostering connections among neighbors and strengthening community ties.

Mayor Jared Carr said, “This event gives our residents a convenient way to clean out their homes and yards while bringing neighbors together. We’re proud to provide these resources to help keep Lebanon clean and safe.”

Services available during the event include free disposal of furniture, appliances, yard waste, washers, dryers, refrigerators, tree limbs, leaves, grass clippings and other household items at no cost for eligible residents. In addition, the Lebanon Fire Department will offer free smoke detector installation for city residents; appointments can be made by filling out an online registration form or calling (417) 532-2104.

City staff and volunteers will assist with moving heavy items for those in need; assistance is based on need and volunteer availability by calling (417) 991-3905. Churches, neighborhood groups and community organizations are encouraged to participate by organizing volunteer teams; interested volunteers from any ward should call Public Works at (417) 991-3905.

Certain items such as tires, wet paint, batteries, fluorescent light tubes, televisions, motor oil or chemical products will not be accepted at the facility; alternative disposal options are available through local retailers or recycling centers.

No advance registration is required for Ward 2 and Ward 3 residents who wish to participate in this spring’s #LevelUpLebanon event.
