The Lebanon City Council held its regular meeting on February 9, 2026, addressing several community matters.

A resolution was approved to sponsor a Community Development Block Grant application for Project 360 / Sound House. Project 360 is an initiative aimed at supporting youth in the area by providing housing stability and support services. During the meeting, council members emphasized the significance of early intervention programs to assist young people and address issues such as youth homelessness and instability.

The council also moved forward with plans to rename Elm Street, part of Millcreek Road located on Elm Street, and Highway W to Route 66. A public hearing on January 27 found no opposition and considerable support from attendees. Online feedback also indicated majority approval, though there was limited input from those directly affected by the change. The renaming is intended to coincide with the Route 66 Centennial kickoff in late April 2026, subject to final approval at the March 23 council meeting.

An amendment extending the lease agreement between the City of Lebanon and Ozarks Regional YMCA through July 1, 2027 was approved. This extension will allow YMCA programs to continue operating while future options are explored, including possible renegotiation of terms.

Appointments were made to local boards during the session. William Guthrie was appointed to the Lebanon Area Veterans Memorial Board for a term expiring in May 2026. Laquita Angst was reappointed to the Lebanon Housing Authority with her term ending in February 2030, while Sarah Smith was appointed to fill an unexpired term ending in February 2028.

Mayor Jared Carr issued a proclamation recognizing Ronald McDonald House Week in Lebanon. All other agenda items received approval as presented.
