Cost of college went up for all students at Missouri University of Science and Technology

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.1 percent for 2018-19 at Missouri University of Science and Technology, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Missouri residents paid $9,440 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $194 more than the $9,246 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 180.3 percent more than residents this year, or $26,461. Their price tag grew 2.1 percent from $25,918 in 2017-18.

About 83 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Missouri residents. About 15 percent are residents of other states and 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 97 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,293 students received grants or scholarships totaling $11.9 million and 760 students took out student loans totaling more than $5.3 million.

Including all undergraduates (8,601), 5,468 students used grants or scholarships totaling $45.2 million, and 3,417 students took out $21.3 million in federal student loans.
