Macks Creek Man Jailed for Shooting Incident

Camdenton, MO, 06-02-22 – Early Tuesday morning, 05-31-22, Camden County deputies responded to Blackberry Lane in Macks Creek for a shooting call. The caller informed Communications Officers a neighbor was firing a weapon into their house.

Deputies arrived to find damage to the outside of a residence consistent with impacting bullets. Deputies also observed damage to the inside of the residence including a ruptured water line which subsequently caused water damage to household items.

Deputies identified the shooter as Martin B Perez, 59, of Macks Creek. While speaking with deputies, Perez admitted to firing a weapon at a light on his property, but then ceased cooperating with the investigation.

Deputies then applied for and received a search warrant. During the service of the warrant, deputies recovered several firearms, spent shell casings, and other evidence consistent with the damage to the residence.

Perez was booked into the Camden County Adult Detention Facility and charged with the Class E Felony of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and the unclassified Felony of Armed Criminal Action. He is being held without bond.

A reminder that these charges are merely allegations of wrongdoing. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
