JUNE 18, 2022: FIRST STATE COMMUNITY BANK, 602 W. JEFFERSON, CONWAY
A 911 call came in advising LCSO that someone was in the process of stealing the ATM machine at the First State Community Bank in Conway. A Ford Super Duty backed up to the ATM. There was a person in the driver’s seat, and a male in dark coveralls, wearing a mask, standing towards the rear of the truck. The male in coveralls noticed the reporting party watching them and yelled to the person in the driver’s seat, saying “He’s calling the #*$#@*# cops”. At this point, the driver “punched the gas” and the truck pulled forward quickly, jumping the asphalt curb and went down the small hill veering to the right. The truck had no traction, and began spinning out. The driver jumped out of the truck, while the engine was still running, and took off on foot towards Jefferson Avenue. The male wearing the coveralls also ran, following the driver. It is believed the two suspects were picked up by a Patriot Blue Dodge Dakota, four-door, two-wheel drive truck. The Ford truck left at the scene belonged to an individual out of Webster County. Investigation continues.
