ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's baseball team will open its Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule with a four-game series with William Jewell starting with a single game Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. in Liberty, Mo. The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. and close the series with a single game Sunday that will also start at 1 p.m.

The Miners (8-3) enter the series on a five-game winning streak that included a sweep of a four-game set with Hillsdale last weekend. In the series finale, S&T got huge days from Michael Hughes (St. Clair, MO/St. Clair), Nick Krodinger (DeSoto, MO/DeSoto) and Doug Wood (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) as the trio drove in 11 of the 14 runs; Hughes and Krodinger had four runs batted in each and Wood belted a three-run homer as part of a six-run second inning, allowing Matthew Kaiser (St. Louis, MO/Vianney) to pick up his first win of the season.

Dakota Sill (Lansing, KS/Lansing) leads S&T in four different statistical categories offensively which includes a .462 batting average, 18 hits, 28 total bases and a slugging percentage of .718. He also leads the team with nine stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .543. Wood leads S&T in runs batted in with 20 and in home runs with three while batting for an average of .316 and a slugging percentage of .632.

On the mound, Ethan Morrow (Lenexa, KS/Shawnee Mission West) leads S&T in innings pitched with 13.2 innings and strikeouts as he struck out 16 batters on the season, while Dylan Mollett (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) has recorded 13.1 innings on the hill with 12 strikeouts in his three starts.

Out of the bullpen, S&T has used nine different pitchers this season. The bullpen allowed only three hits in the Alabama Huntsville series and recorded 29 strikeouts in this previous series against Hillsdale.
