Washington, DC - Congressman Mark Alford (MO-04) has introduced the American Land and Property Protection Act, a legislation aimed at preventing foreign adversaries from purchasing real estate in the United States. The bill specifically targets nonresident aliens, foreign businesses, and individuals associated with China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, prohibiting them from acquiring land in America.

The American Land and Property Protection Act has garnered significant support, with several representatives co-sponsoring the legislation. Among them are Representatives Reschenthaler (PA-14), DesJarlais (TN-04), Weber (TX-14), Mooney (WV-02), Pfluger (TX-11), Duncan (SC-03), and Greene (GA-14).

Congressman Alford emphasized the importance of the legislation, stating, "Foreign adversaries have no business owning American real estate. Right now, if Americans wanted to travel to Moscow, Beijing, or Havana, we would not be allowed to buy property. Why is the reverse scenario permissible? Our legislation will change that."

In a rapidly changing global landscape, securing the homeland is of utmost importance. The American Land and Property Protection Act is seen as a crucial first step in accomplishing this goal. By prohibiting land purchases by foreign adversaries, the United States aims to safeguard its national interests and protect its domestic assets.

The introduction of this legislation comes as part of a broader effort to strengthen national security and address concerns over potential threats posed by foreign entities. The focus on nonresident aliens, foreign businesses, and individuals linked to China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea reflects the need to be vigilant and proactive in safeguarding America's land and property.

As the American Land and Property Protection Act makes its way through the legislative process, Congressman Alford and his co-sponsors will continue to advocate for its passage. The bill aims to ensure that foreign adversaries are not able to exploit vulnerabilities within the United States and underscores the commitment to protecting the nation's interests.
