Earlier today, Congressmen Alford (MO-04) and Salud Carbajal (CA-24) announced the establishment of the Bipartisan Long Range Strike Caucus. The caucus aims to provide an informal, bipartisan platform to educate Members on current and future U.S. Bomber capabilities, advocate for this essential instrument of national security, and facilitate engagement between Congress, industry, and the Department of Defense.

The caucus will support our nation’s bomber force and the many missions that enable our bombers in conducting Long Range Strike. This includes Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve units that provide Fighter Escort, Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses, Air Refueling, Test, Acquisition, and depot maintenance.

The following Representatives have joined the Long Range Strike Caucus: Cole, Bost, Turner, Brownley, Fleischmann, S. Graves, Courtney, Davis, Johnson (SD), Lalota , LaMalfa , Luetkemeyer , Mast , McCormick , Moylan , Veasey and Wagner.

Congressman Mark Alford issued a statement regarding the launch of the caucus: “The Long Range Strike Caucus will serve as a platform to highlight our bomber and long range munition capabilities that can hold targets at risk anytime, anywhere in the world. This caucus will advocate for the U.S. bomber force and credible deterrence to maintain peace through strength. I'm honored to lead this group with co-chair Rep. Carbajal.”

Congressman Salud Carbajal added: “Ensuring all three legs of our nation’s nuclear triad is critical to our national security and strategic deterrence. The Air Force’s bomber fleet has served our nation well for decades, and it is critical we continue to modernize these aircrafts. I am proud to serve alongside Congressman Alford as co-chairs of the Long Range Strike Caucus to continue advocating for these programs.”
