Congressman Mark Alford has announced a bipartisan National Housing Crisis Summit scheduled for February 19, 2025, in Raymore, Missouri. The event aims to address the increasing costs and supply shortages affecting housing across the nation.
Rep. Alford, who serves as Co-chair of the Congressional Real Estate Caucus, emphasized the importance of this summit by stating that it will gather "Members of Congress, subject matter experts, and industry leaders for a discussion in the heart of America about the future of the American dream." The panel is expected to propose public policy solutions to tackle these pressing issues.
The summit will feature several notable figures including Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA-46), who co-chairs the caucus alongside Rep. Alford. Nick Haines from Kansas City PBS will moderate the discussions. Other participants include Jack Hopkins from Community Bank of Raymore, Will Ruder from Homebuilder’s Association of Greater Kansas City, Grant Zehner from Westcor Land Title Insurance and Missouri Land Title Association, and Mike Frazier from ReeceNichols.
The event is set to begin at 10 AM Central Time at Centerview Complex – Harrelson Hall in Raymore. Doors will open at 9:30 AM. The summit welcomes both public attendees and media representatives with RSVP required for participation.
