Congressman Mark Alford is set to deliver a keynote address at the National Security Crossroads: Building the Defense Ecosystem Workshop on February 18, 2025. This workshop aims to highlight national defense and security assets in the region, explore investment opportunities, and foster growth partnerships. It will gather stakeholders from Missouri and Kansas, including Members of Congress, defense contractors, national security agency executives, academic institutions, military installations, area development corporations, regional communities, and state agency leaders.

The event will feature several notable speakers alongside Congressman Alford. These include UMKC Chancellor C. Mauli Agrawal, Ph.D., Lieutenant General Perry Wiggins (USA Retired), who serves as Executive Director of the Kansas Governor’s Military Council, and Mr. Harry Roberts, Missouri Military Advocate and Executive Director of the Missouri Military Preparedness and Enhancement Commission. Additionally, there will be esteemed panelists representing various sectors such as military installations and defense communities.

The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday with Congressman Alford's address beginning at approximately 8:30 AM CT. The program itself starts at 7:30 AM at the National World War I Museum and Monument in Kansas City.
