Today, Congressman Mark Alford of Missouri's 4th District, who serves on the House Appropriations Committee, expressed his support for H.R. 1968, known as the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025. This legislation was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives to fund the federal government until September 30, 2025.
In a statement following the vote, Congressman Alford said, “I was proud to support President Trump by voting for this continuing resolution to keep America open for business.” He acknowledged that while he typically does not favor continuing resolutions (C.R.s), this particular one is vital to provide President Trump with the necessary time and space to implement their mutual "America first agenda."
Alford highlighted several key components of the legislation. It includes a significant pay raise for junior enlisted service members—the largest in four decades—while maintaining other spending at current levels. Additionally, it aims to strengthen border security under the Trump Administration and empowers DOGE to continue efforts in identifying and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse.
“House Republicans are working in lockstep with President Trump to save America,” Alford stated.
