Lake Regional Health System acknowledged the contributions of its volunteers at the Auxiliary's annual luncheon on April 23 at Lake Valley Golf Club in Camdenton. The event celebrated the dedication and service of individuals who have significantly contributed to the hospital community.

Lake Regional's CEO Kevin McRoberts expressed gratitude for the volunteers, saying, "Lake Regional is a better place because of our volunteers. These caring individuals comfort our patients and encourage and support our team in many ways. We are grateful for their service, and we thank them for their many hours of dedication to our community."

In 2024, volunteers collectively provided 12,862 service hours to the hospital. Special recognition was given to Pat Beffa and Bob Fox for 20 years of service, earning them Lifetime Achievement Awards. Additionally, seventeen volunteers were honored with Outstanding Volunteer Awards for completing 2000 hours within a decade, including Brenda Wood, Alyce Vitor, and others.

Volunteers were also acknowledged for total lifetime hours contributed, with achievements ranging from 100 hours to 9,000 hours.

In line with its mission for 2025, the Auxiliary announced an emphasis on Alzheimer's awareness and education. A $1,000 donation was made to Lake Regional Neurology to certify providers in the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. Crystal Lloyd, APRN, MSN, FNP-C, highlighted the importance of this tool, stating, "This screening tool helps detect mild cognitive impairment, allowing us to begin treatment during the early stages of dementia. We are grateful to the Auxiliary for recognizing the importance of early detection for patients’ well-being."

The Lake Regional Hospital Auxiliary, founded in 1977, consists of members from various backgrounds, including retirees, students, and business professionals. All volunteers serve in roles that align with their personal skills and interests.
