Today, Congressman Mark Alford from Missouri's 4th District issued a statement following the passage of the One Big, Beautiful Bill by House Republicans.

In his statement, Congressman Alford expressed support for the legislation, attributing its progress to "President Trump’s leadership." He stated that "Republicans are one step closer to enacting the generational change demanded by the American people." According to Alford, this bill aims to redirect the nation’s course in favor of "hardworking Americans—not bureaucrats, special interests, or illegal immigrants."

Alford criticized House Democrats for opposing the bill, stating it was unfortunate they voted for what he described as "the largest tax increase in American history," along with policies leading to "open borders" and an uncertain future for Medicaid.

The One Big, Beautiful Bill includes several measures: stopping a significant tax increase while ending taxes on tips and overtime; providing financial relief for seniors; strengthening Medicaid by eliminating waste and removing over a million illegal immigrants from the program; securing funding for border wall construction and additional security measures; enhancing air traffic control systems; and increasing defense funding.

The bill also aims to reform the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to ensure it serves as temporary aid rather than a permanent solution.
