Today, Congressman Mark Alford of Missouri's 4th District addressed a letter to key members of the Trump Administration. He urged an investigation into possible connections between an alleged antisemitic murderer and foreign terrorist organizations. The letter was sent to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
The appeal follows the recent murders of two Israeli Embassy employees, Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky. They were killed after attending an event at the Capital Jewish Museum focused on humanitarian solutions for Gaza. Congressman Alford expressed his condolences to their families.
Alford highlighted eyewitness reports that identified Elias Rodriguez as the alleged murderer. Rodriguez reportedly held a keffiyeh and shouted "Free Palestine" during the incident. He had been associated with the Party of Socialism and Liberation (PSL), which has shown support for Hamas and other groups labeled as antisemitic terror organizations.
A now-removed article from PSL's publication featured Rodriguez, expressing discontent over Amazon's influence in Seattle. The Chicago chapter of PSL also hosted a gala benefiting MECA, a nonprofit linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), designated by the State Department as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
In his letter, Alford requested information on any financial ties between PSL and foreign terrorist groups. He also asked about measures taken by government departments to monitor foreign funding sources for extremist activities within the U.S., particularly those promoting anti-Israel sentiments.
Congressman Alford emphasized that such tragedies should not recur and urged prompt action from the administration.
